Friday evening (27th June 2025)
-Meet-up 17:00pm in the "TWO BOATS" Public house canal-side carpark CV47 9QZ (Please park near the entrance as you enter the carpark, as before, to save closer spaces for pub patrons)
-Fish from the moment we get on the canal after the briefing until -21:00pm.
If you are going to be late, ping me or the LACC a message and let me know. That way, I can either leave a score sheet on my car windscreen for you. (I WILL need to know if you are entering the prize-pot before-hand though for obvious reasons)
£5 entry per person payable in cash on the day and “winner takes all” (unless there are more that 10 anglers, allowing me to pay more places) Equally, if you would just like to take part and experience the competitive element of lure fishing without paying the competition entry fee that is fine (obviously you would not be eligible for a cash prize though, should you win, just the glory and bragging rights :-))
As many people favour of a scorecard rather than everything counts, I will again keep the comps simple - with best 3 Perch and best 3 Zander to count. No minimum size limit (full card does not trump others and no extra points for doing so)
I'm not going to put any fishing boundary-limits on these comps, so you are free to roam! Just keep to the LACC-owned grand union canal. Please be back at the carpark by 21:30pm latest so that we can do the results.
-All on foot (no cars/bikes to be used)
-Fish mats and official measures with an up-turned, rigid end only please (the measure printed on your fish mat is not accurate enough so cannot be accepted)
-Fish must be measured and photographed with the nose of the fish to the left hand side of the measure and touching the stop/up-turned end. Tails can be pinched to get the most from your catch and we are rounding up to the nearest cm (i.e. 23.5cm is rounded up to 24cm) Please make sure one complete side of the measure is visible in the photo (i.e the fish doesn't block it out and we see a continuous measurement)
-You will be issued with a coloured sticker for that evenings event which must be placed on the top left corner of your official measure and visible in the submission photos.
-No fishing in the rise/fall boat/lock chambers
-No casting into the swims of others
In the event of a tie on points, the result will be decided on the tied - anglers longest Zander. If there is still a tie, it will go to the angler with the longest perch. If they are still tied, the cash prize will be split 50/50 between the tied anglers.
Winners photos will always be verified before any monies are paid.
My aim is for these to be super-friendly meetups of a bunch of like-minded anglers and maybe a pint afterwards to discuss all the monster Zander we lost! 😃
-These comps are for LACC membership holders or those who purchase a valid LACC day-ticket for that day's fishing.
No need to officially book in or pre-pay (as I know plans can often change) just mark as "Attending" on this event so I have an idea of numbers or ping me a private message.
If you have any questions, drop a comment on this post or ping me a message.
