Women in AI Utah: Intro to Artificial Intelligence Camp

Prerequisites: Basic computer skills include using a mouse, track pad, and typing using a keyboard.

Summary: The Women in AI Introduction to Artificial Intelligence camp is a one-day, completely free camp targeted to teach young students grades 5-8 about computer science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Students will learn to code their own artificial intelligence model (a computer vision-based machine learning network), interact with other peers, and learn about complex machine learning topics from an experienced high school student and with the supervision of adults. Computers will be provided. Snacks will also be provided, but we encourage students to bring their own lunch. Students will also need to know a valid e-mail address to create an account on our coding platform, Kaggle. This camp is targeted to increase computational literacy of young women, but is open to anybody who would like to attend! The camp will be held Saturday, September 13th, 2025 at the Utah STEM Action Center [3848 S W Temple St #102, South Salt Lake, UT 84115] from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
