Their music spans genres from Bluegrass, Country, Blues, to Celtic and Asian-flavoured Montz’s original melodies. When they play old songs, you will feel both joy and grief of life carried in those melodies. You will enjoy their improvisations which is an important element of Bluegrass music, as some people say ‘it’s a Hillbilly version of Jazz’. North Carolinian Ross has been playing almost any kind of American music for decades and knows how to put Jazz and Blues into the music.
They are not just good at playing old melodies; Montz’s original songs and tunes have unique contemporary elements that reflect his cross-cultural experience, having spent time in India, Ireland, North America, and collaborating with various artists, including Japanese traditional musicians and Butoh dancers in Kyoto, Japan.
