Roller Dance 101 with Sofi Cherchyk

Roller Dance 101 - A 4 Week Intensive Coaching Program with coach, Sofi Cherchyk.

Wrap up the year by picking up a skill that makes your body and soul groove. Roller Dance 101 is a four week intensive program starting on Wednesday the 26th of November, created by The Roller Skating Academy in collaboration with Roller Dance Australia Inc, designed to help you discover or refine your dance on wheels.

Join us at our Studio in South Brisbane at 6pm on Wednesdav 26th November for the first of vour online coaching sessions with Sofi Cherchvk, hosted bv Roller Dance Australia. Sofi will be coaching you from _ondon via the wonders of technology while one of our Roller Dance Australia members will be with you in person to guide you through. Each session will be ninety minutes each, where Sofi will prepare you both off skates and on skates. We’ll warm up to take care of your body, review essential techniques, practice bilateral drills and gradually build a choreography. We’ll focus on bounce, rhythm, coordination and flow, using training methods that enhance your balance and help prevent injuries. You will be guided along the way, in person by Roller Dance Australia ensuring your skills are cemented through coaching, practice and consistency.

And we know that sometimes practicing outside of class is hard, so you’ll have four weeks of access to our Roller Studio sessions on Tuesdays to share and connect with other skaters and practice what you’ve learnt. Roller Studio isn’t a rink; it’s a studio where you can practice your moves, learn new sequences and connect with other skaters. With music, good vibes and support from our team, you’ll reinforce what you learn, experiment and feel part of a beautiful community.

The best part is that this intensive program follows a progressive learning curve. You won’t just learn isolated moves - you’ll build a coherent repertoire that allows you to express your own style and feel free on skates; something you can pull out on the rink the next time you go. It doesn’t matter if you already have roller dance experience or are starting from zero: we’ll revisit the foundations, because they’re the basis of every movement.
