David was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in February 2025. Since that time he has attended multiple medical appointments (in and out of province), has undergone a series of testing, and has completed a 28 day course of treatment at the Cancer Treatment Centre at the QEH. He will now require surgery to be performed in Halifax in an effort to remove the tumour.

David and his family will travel to Halifax on Monday, Sept 22nd for pre surgery testing. The 8-9 hour surgery is booked for 8 am on Tuesday morning, September 23rd. Recovery and prognosis will depend on the outcome of the surgery.
