Creative Journaling: The Happy Class (Thursday pm ZOOM)

Why do some people eat escargot? Because they don’t like fast food! Did you laugh? Compared to most children, adults spend less time in play, experience fewer novel situations and feel insecure about their accomplishments and social status which takes the fun right out of them. The marvelous exceptions are the vibrant, playful, and inquisitive adults who persistently seek out new challenges, explore new roads, form new friendships and are always learning. Incorporating creativity, playfulness, and fun can make our journaling practice take on a curious flavour. Instead of focusing solely on self-reflection, let’s encourage imagination and play. We will learn just as much about ourselves through playfulness but without the seriousness that sometimes accompanies self-reflection.

In Creative Journaling, a theme is presented, and participants are invited to use words, imagery and a variety of mixed media techniques to unearth, explore and record their unique responses, thoughts and emotions. Participants are united in hope, support and camaraderie as they uncover their inherent creativity. A safe and creative space is born where negativity is banished leaving only room for meaningful connection, self-expression and healing.

This is a ZOOM class and is $75 for six sessions.

Thursdays, 6 – 7:30 pm PST/7 – 8:30 pm MST
