In this unique and transformative tango workshop, we’ll journey into the delicate interplay of leader and follower. We’ll uncover how this dynamic is shaped by shifting cultural and generational tides, personal stories, and the vibrant tapestry of tango styles, tracing its evolution through the ages.
You’ll leave with practical, empowering tools to deepen your mastery of tango’s structure, technique, and subtle communication—regardless of the role you choose to dance. As you embody the empowered essence of both leader and follower, you’ll step into each embrace with newfound presence and confidence, unlocking fresh possibilities for profound connection, authentic expression, and radiant joy—both on and off the dance floor—even with partners and people from diverse schools of thought, generations, and cultures.
FOR LEADERS
* Offering proposals with clarity and purpose, so your partner can receive them with ease
* Distinguishing the proposal itself from the movement that accompanies it
* Listening deeply to the follower’s readiness, direction, and response
* Composing the dance for the couple, moment by moment, from the feedback you receive
FOR FOLLOWERS:
* Awakening sensitivity to direction, timing, step size, and the subtle quality of each movement
* Reading and interpreting a spectrum of different leads
* Weaving your personal expression into the leader’s composition with grace and authenticity
FOR BOTH:
* Rooting into your own axis while staying attuned to your partner’s at all times.
* Understanding when and how both axes travel together (linear movement) and when one circles the other (circular movement).
* Establishing varied points of contact in the embrace to invite new textures of connection.
* Increasing adaptability to different partners to make your social dance experience more fluid and enjoyable.
* Clarifying roles so you can break rules with intention or co-create in perfect harmony.
*Honing precision in movement and timing until it feels effortless and alive.
