Blood on the Boardwalk: A Dread TTRPG Night

Summer is about to begin in the quiet beach town of Kent, New Jersey. Memorial Day weekend should bring waves of tourists, a packed boardwalk, and long nights of celebration. Instead, it has brought terror.

In the days leading up to the holiday, a strange attack has been reported. A body found on the boardwalk, mangled and chewed through with teeth far bigger than any wolf or coyote. Local law enforcement refuses to investigate further as they claim it was merely a freak occurrence. But the citizens at Kent know that there is something monstrous in the Pine Barrens stalking them like prey. As panic spreads and tension boils over, friends, families, and strangers alike are forced to confront the truth: a monster has found itself in the Jersey Shore, it is hungry, and no one knows who will be next.

This is a one-shot session of Dread, a horror TTRPG of high tension and inevitable collapse. All you’ll need is your imagination and a willingness to be brave. No prior experience with the system is required. Whether you’re new to Dread or a seasoned player, you’re welcome at the table.

Your DM: Andrew is a seasoned game master with over 18 years of experience. Starting with D&D 2nd edition he has worked his way up all the way to the 2024 5th edition, or 5.5 if we are going to call it that. Along the way he has had extensive experience running campaigns in Call of Cthulhu, Monster of the Week, Shadowdark and of course Dread. A clever mind and a desire to tell the best story will always be welcomed at Andrew’s table. Horror may be found in the story, but at the table the goal is to have fun!
