The Night Before Christmas - presented by Doris Montag, History of Ordinary Things

“Twas the night before Christmas” written by Clement C Moore, 1823, characterized Saint Nick as the jolly, rolly-polly Santa Claus known to American children. This 20-book collection presents the well-known story illustrated by 20 different artists. Doris will share illustrator bios, some history on the evolution of Santa Claus’ image and some pre-season holiday chatter and fun. This talk is ideal for everyone familiar with the classic phrase “…and to all a good night!”

Doris is a storyteller and local curator of historic collections and their stories. She has shared many of her topics in the series known as The History of Ordinary Things.

This holiday exhibit will be on display at the Solon Public Library throughout December.
