Join us for a hands-on Soil Health Workshop at Gospel Lane Allotments. Learn about nurturing healthy soil, for plots that are more productive and resilient to droughts, flooding, pests and disease.

What you’ll explore:

• Simple soil tests – Learn free, easy techniques to assess your soil’s health.
• Microscopic world of soil – See the hidden life beneath your feet and discover the vital microbes that keep your plot thriving.
• Practical tips – Take away actionable methods to improve and maintain soil health
• Share knowledge and experience - chat with plot holders from other sites.

What to bring:

• A cupful of soil or compost from your plot to view under the microscope.
• Gardening gloves and outdoor clothes
• Packed lunch

As this event is funded by the Birmingham Food Legends Fund it is only for people who have an allotment within Birmingham
