На 29 ноември те каним на специално издание на In The Mood Science Sessions, посветено на загадъчния космически пътник 3I ATLAS – обект, който провокира както научния интерес, така и човешкото въображение.
В първата лекция физикът и астроном Пенчо Маркишки ще ни преведе през историята на кометите – от древните вярвания и предсказания до съвременните научни наблюдения. Ще разберем защо тези редки небесни явления са впечатлявали хората през вековете и какво ги прави уникални астрономически обекти.
Във втората лекция Емил Тасев ще представи митовете, легендите и интерпретациите, които съпътстват появата на кометата 3I ATLAS в днешната научнопопулярна култура. Ще разгледаме как една комета, идваща от тъмните покрайнини на Слънчевата система, се превръща в източник на символи, спекулации и вдъхновение.

On November 29, we invite you to a special edition of In The Mood Science Sessions, dedicated to the mysterious cosmic visitor 3I ATLAS – an object that sparks both scientific curiosity and human imagination.
In the first talk, physicist and astronomer Pencho Markishki will guide us through the long history of comets — from ancient beliefs and interpretations to modern astronomical observations. We will explore why these rare celestial events have fascinated humanity for centuries and what makes each comet a unique object in the night sky.
In the second lecture, Emil Tasev will present the myths, legends, and interpretations surrounding the appearance of 3I ATLAS in contemporary science communication and popular culture. We will look at how a comet arriving from the distant outskirts of the Solar System becomes a source of symbolism, speculation, and inspiration.
