На 26 март отдаваме почит на хип-хоп културата от Куинс, Ню Йорк и суровия дух, който оформи цяло едно поколение. И да, правим го с легендарните The Beatnuts!
Израснали в различни квартали на Куинс, JuJu и Psycho Les се срещат чрез ровене из плочи, DJ партита и общата си любов към бийтовете. Благодарение на Afrika Baby Bam от Jungle Brothers, те стават част от движението Native Tongues и се сблъскват с имена като De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest и самите Jungle Brothers — право в сърцето на хип-хоп историята.
Първоначално известни като Beat Kings, името им е променено след шега на Jungle Brothers, че не са крале, а просто две откачени глави, достатъчно луди да мъкнат стотици плочи на всяко парти. Така се раждат The Beatnuts — и името остава завинаги.

On March 26, Malkata Tekila Sofia celebrates the Queens, New York City hip-hop culture and the raw spirit that shaped a whole new generation. And yes, we’re doing it with the legendary The Beatnuts!
From different neighborhoods in Queens, NYC, JuJu and Psycho Les came together through crate digging, DJ battles, and a shared love for beats. Introduced to the Native Tongues movement by Afrika Baby Bam of the Jungle Brothers, they crossed paths with De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and the Jungle Brothers themselves — right at the roots of true hip-hop history.
Originally known as Beat Kings, their name was flipped after the Jungle Brothers joked they weren’t kings — just two nuts crazy enough to haul hundreds of records to every party. And that’s how The Beatnuts were born.
