We are back for another year in 2026. Come join us on February 7th 2026 at GTRI Smyrna campus again.
The 2026 annual Toothpick Bridge Event will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The event will be held at the Smyrna, GA location of the Georgia Tech Research Institute. The event is open to all; participants may enter individually or in teams (max. of 5).
Participants will build their bridges ahead of the event, then bring them to the event for testing. Participants may enter the Toothpick Category with bridges weighing up to 121 grams constructed of only wooden toothpicks and glue. Participants may enter the Open Category with bridges weighing up to 60 grams constructed of any materials. Detailed rules and other event information can be found at
http://www.ascega.org/toothpick-bridge-event/.
Event staff will subject each bridge to a technical inspection prior to testing.
During the event, bridges will be tested to failure; we will break your bridge. Bridges that are dropped off will not be returned to participants.
After testing, a certificate will be generated for each participant. The certificate will include the participant’s name, breaking force of the bridge, weight of the bridge, and breaking-force-to-weight ratio.
