Norwich Township Supervisors are holding a Public Hearing & Special Meeting on Swift Current Energyβs application for a single meteorological evaluation tower (Met Tower B) β the first step toward their Black Cherry Wind Project.
π What changed?
- Swift Current Energy pulled its application for Met Tower A near Bear Head Camp after it was found to be too close to an active natural gas well. Even the gas operator confirmed the well was in service, proving the location was unsafe
- Now, theyβre trying to push through approval of Met Tower B on Collins Pine property β a Pennsylvania Game Commission hunter access property. They want this done quickly, before hunting season, when turnout and opposition would be even stronger.
π½οΈ Plan for the Night:
- Many of us will meet beforehand at the Crosby Store & Crosby Legion for dinner.
- After the hearing, weβll regroup for drinks at the Crosby Legion and discuss next steps.
β οΈ Why You Need to Be There:
- This tower is Step One for Swift Current Energy. If they donβt get the data, they donβt get turbines. No data = no turbines.
- Supervisors must make a decision within 60 days after this hearing.
- A strong turnout shows Swift Current and our elected officials that our community will not be ignored or steamrolled.
π Spread the word. Bring friends, neighbors, hunters, camp owners, and fellow residents. Letβs pack the room and make it clear: our land, our safety, and our hunting grounds are not for sale.
