October 1-5, 2025
Our chapter will be hosting an Ice Age Trail Crew event from October 1 to October 5. The project will extend the Cedar Lakes Segment by adding more than two miles of new trail across a partner property owned by the Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation.
REGISTRATION: If you wish to help with the Trail Crew project, you should register for the days you plan to attend on the Ice Age Trail Alliance website. Registration form on Alliance website. Registration is required even for local (chapter) participants. Knowing the number of participants allows the daily work and work assignments to be planned in advance.
BASE CAMP: Base camp for this project will be Ackerman's Grove County Park, Shelter 3. Click here for driving directions. Those participating in the project should arrive here each morning before 8 am for work assignments. Do not park in the existing Ice Age Trail parking lots, such as the Polk Kames lot on County NN. Workers will carpool or be shuttled to the work sites due to limited parking.
POTLUCK: Our chapter is responsible for feeding the Trail Crew workers at the end of the day on Wednesday October 1. The chapter will be purchasing brats and burgers and grilling them for a cookout style potluck. But we are looking for chapter members to bring side dishes such as salads, deserts, etc. If you wish to help feed the workers, you can add your name and what you are bringing to the sign up spreadsheet, or email the chapter at
d2FzaG96Y3R5Y2hhcHRlciB8IGljZWFnZXRyYWlsICEgb3Jn. Potluck items should be brought to base camp (see above) just prior to the 6 pm dinner bell. Approximately 40 workers / diners are expected at this time.
MORE INFORMATION: More details about the project and our chapter's involvement are contained in the meeting minutes of our planning meetings with the Alliance staff. If you have any questions about the project or how you can participate, you can email the chapter.
