Join Loftus Accord Walking Group in this celebration of our industrial and social heritage in a beautiful rural setting. We will set off at 10.30am promptly.
Led by Malcolm Cook ,a local experienced walk leader , this 6 mile walk will pass a 19th century working water mill, go through Upleatham village , with views down to the 12th century church, up through woods onto Beacon Moor, with a view down to the remains of Upleatham Mine, once the second largest ironstone mine in the area, circling back down through fields and woods , catching sight of Roseberry Topping, crossing Tocketts Beck and back to the start.
Please bring snacks and plenty of fluids, we will stop to admire the views, catch our breaths but not for lunch.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and the varying terrain- there are hills, steps and a ladder stile.
Well-behaved dogs on leads will be welcome.
A voluntary contribution of £3.00 per adult towards the running costs of the group would be welcomed. Post walk, Tocketts Mill serves a variety of drinks ,meals and snacks, whilst nearby Skelton and Guisborough offer a wide range of opportunities for refreshments .
Arriva Bus 5 stops outside Tocketts Mill.
