A Landscape, a Narrator, a Journey: Writing Workshop

Join us for a writing workshop with 2025 PMRCAA Resident Beth Alvarado!

Time: 3 - 6 p.m.

Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture

We are excited to welcome 2025 PMRCAA resident author Beth Alvarado.

Using landscape as inspiration, this hands-on writing workshop will begin with a guided free writing exercise before moving into more intentional writing practices. By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with the start of a memoir, essay, short story, or series of poems.

All materials and supplies are provided.

Optional materials to bring:

• Computer
• Notebook with pen/pencil

For ages 16 and older. Those under age 16 may attend accompanied by an adult.

About the Artist:

Beth Alvarado is the author of four books. Her essay collection Anxious Attachments won the 2020 Oregon Book Award for Creative Nonfiction and her story collection, Jillian in the Borderlands, marries the social justice novel with magical realism. Originally from the Sonoran Desert, she teaches for OSU-Cascades Low Residency MFA Program in Bend.
