Locomondo in De Casino!

Locomondo has become one of Greece’s most loved live bands, fusing Caribbean sounds from ska to dub to reggae. In for a party? The crazy world of Locomondo is here!

Bouzouki, baglama, viool, gaida, tsampouna, kaval, santouri, lier en luit: het zijn instrumenten die niet snel het mooie weer maken in een reggaeband. De Griekse band Locomondo, die Caribische genres zoals reggae en ska vermengt met traditionele Mediterrane muziek, is dan ook een unicum. De groep heeft ondertussen een megapopulaire status verworven en brengt uitzinnige massa’s op de been. Zanger, componist en bandleader Markos Koumaris heeft het dan ook allemaal: het muzikale vernuft, de stem, de moves, een bouzouki, waarachtige dreads en een bende leuke vrienden waaronder Manu Chao, Alpha Blondy, the Skatalites, the Wailers, Culture, Mad Professor, Amparanoia, Ojos de Brujo, Aswad en Ska Cubano! En de band? Die straalt alles uit wat de mensheid nodig heeft: hoop, levensvreugde, poëzie, melancholie, ritme, trots en solidariteit.
