About the event

Writing into Spring - A Live Writing Workshop (January)
Join veteran teachers Sarah Pleydell and Michaele Weissman’s writing workshop exploring darkness, hibernation, and winter's pale light.

About this Event

One Wednesday: January 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. IN PERSON at Zinnia Restaurant

Price:

$50 per person

One way to survive the winter? Write yourself into the light with veteran teachers (and best pals) Sarah Pleydell and Michaele Weissman. Their three-part live memoir-writing workshop will take place at the restaurant Zinnia on the first Wednesday of each month. Pleydell and Weissman’s warmth, their smart and sassy prompts and their understanding of the writing process will enable memoirists, accomplished and less so, to write themselves from winter’s darkness into the heart-opening light of early spring.

Our January writing workshop explores darkness and hibernation, the heart’s hunger for newness and the persistence of winter’s pale light.

Students can register for individual sessions or several.

A complimentary beverage (glass of wine, beer or coffee) is included in the ticket price. Food and additional drinks are available for purchase separately.

Hate, discrimination, and disrespect have no place at P&P kindness, patience, and tolerance always do.

About the Instructors:

Sarah Pleydell MFA debuted her solo ‘tiny house play’, “The Power Behind the Comb”, in Washington, D.C. in 2021. Michaele Weissman is a writer and teacher who has published four books and hundreds of articles. Her memoir, The Rye Bread Marriage, plumbs the meaning of her husband’s obsession with rye bread; while telling the story of his wartime childhood and pondering the complexities of long-term marriage. Her previous book, God in a Cup, for which she followed three young coffee buyers around the world, helped put the specialty coffee industry on the map. Her articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and scores of other print and online publications. She started her freelance career writing humor for Cosmo Magazine.
