Join us for a unique hands-on workshop that blends practical land care, herbal wisdom, and seasonal celebration.
Together, we will help manage the spread of St John’s Wort in a designated area of council land in the Dandenong Ranges, supporting both biodiversity and community stewardship. As we harvest and clear this vibrant summer plant, you’ll gain an appreciation for its long history of medicinal uses.
During the session, herbalist and forager, Lisa of Herbal Harvest will guide you through:
*The medicinal benefits of St John’s Wort
*How to identify and responsibly harvest this plant
*How to prepare your own botanical remedies
This immersive experience is not only about W**d clearing but also about reconnection with the land. If you opt to stay for the medicine-making component, you'll walk away with the skills to create your own botanical remedies. We will close the session with a land blessing, honouring the turning of the seasons, and give thanks to nature’s abundance. St John's Wort is most potent on and around the Summer Solstice, so we recommend attending the medicine-making session on the 21st, which is closest to the solstice.
