KÖRKONSERT - VIGILIA

Körkonsert - Vigilia

Sergei Rachmaninov komponerade verket Vigilia 1915 och det sägs att det endast tog honom två veckor att färdigställa detta. Verket kom att bli en personlig favorit för honom och på hans eget önskemål framfördes delar av det på hans begravning. Vigilia består av femton körsånger på kyrkslaviska vilket är ett liturgiskt språk med rötter tillbaka till 800-talet och den ortodoxa traditionen.
