Longest Night Service Or "Blue Christmas"
On the darkest night of the year, we gather for a quiet and contemplative Longest Night Service. A time of worship for anyone who finds the holiday season difficult or who simply needs a moment of peace. While Advent often invites joy and celebration, many of us carry grief, stress, or weariness that make this time of year feel heavy. This service offers gentle space to breathe, to pray, and to be honest before God.
Even as we acknowledge the darkness we experience, the focus of the service is firmly on Jesus Christ, the Light who shines in the darkness. Through Scripture, prayer, silence, and the lighting of candles, we remember that Christ meets us where we are, bringing comfort to the brokenhearted and hope to the weary. He is Emmanuel, God-with-us, even in our longest nights.
All are welcome to come, rest, and receive the quiet promise of Christ’s presence.
