Join us online for this session about the forthcoming Harvest Family Fast Day which is on Friday 3rd October. We will be joined at the meeting by Fergus Conmee, CAFOD's Director of International Programmes.
At the briefing, we will introduce you to the story of Waré and her community in Borana, Southern Ethiopia and share how the funds raised at previous Fast Days enabled us to work with the community to build an underground water storage tank. We will also share other important updates with you and have some reflection time during the session.
Whether you are an experienced volunteer, we hope you will join us at the briefing which is a wonderful opportunity to come together with other CAFOD volunteers from the Shrewsbury and Birmingham Dioceses to hear about and to share your own experiences and tips for organising Fast Day in your parish.
Early planning for Fast Day with your parish priest is critical, so please ask now if you can read the short Fast Day talk at mass and get it in booked in the parish diary. The dates are Saturday 27th/Sunday 28th September or the weekend of the Fast Day, 4th/5th October, if that is more convenient.
The funds raised at Fast Days, supports our vital work with the most vulnerable communities across the globe and enables us to plan ahead for projects such as the one with Waré's community. Your generosity enables us to carry out our life-transforming work overseas on behalf of the Catholic community in England and Wales.
