Craft & Conversation: The Thread Collectors (Adults) at the West Shreveport Branch

Join us for a creative afternoon inspired by our One Book One Parish selection, The Thread Collectors by Shaunna J. Edwards and Alyson Richman. Set during the Civil War, this moving novel follows two women – one Black, one Jewish – who use their needlework to send secret messages, protect loved ones, and fight for freedom.

We’ll use fat quarter squares to make mini quilt samples as we reflect on the story’s themes of resilience, creativity, and hope. Bring your imagination and enjoy stitching, sharing and discussion! All supplies will be provided!
