How Animals Prepare for Winter

Gaynor Bigelbach is the Education Director at Nashua River Watershed Association where she has worked for more than a decade leading interpretive programs for families, adults and schools throughout the watershed. Gaynor is a passionate believer in the efficacy of hands-on education, outdoor exploration and the power of storytelling to connect people with all that is marvelous about the natural world.
Program Description
On the shortest day of the year, winter solstice, come and learn about the behavioral and physical adaptations our animal neighbors rely on to survive the long winter months. Using her camera trap video clips and photographs of local wildlife NRWA’s Gaynor Bigelbach will illustrate how animals in New England are ingenious, industrious, and amazingly adept at weathering winter.
Children ages 8 and up with their adults are invited to join the fun of this winter solstice program!
