Plant a Tree, Support Healthy Streams: A Volunteer Event

Help plant native shrubs along Burd Run and learn how local nurseries support stream health, erosion control, and lasting watershed restoration.

Lend a hand in restoring our local waterways by volunteering with the Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards for a native shrub planting along Burd Run at Shippensburg University. This unique effort will establish a living nursery of native shrubs, serving as future source material for streambank stabilization and erosion control projects throughout the region. Volunteers will not only contribute to an impactful conservation effort but also learn how local plant nurseries play a vital role in long-term watershed health. Join us for this hands-on event and be part of a project that supports healthier streams and a more resilient landscape.
