The Knisely Family is a true pillar in Perry County. The legacy, comradery and community of their barroom, Laurel Run Lodge, inspired the beginning of many musical journeys. The legend of his late father, Chick Knisley, has continued to ring through the years just like an old fiddle. Gene Knisely, lovingly dubbed, The Country Music Singer; carries on the old time feeling through his classic country pickin’ and singin’. Just like his daddy!

Zachariah King:
Born and raised between the ridges of Eschol, PA, Zachariah King, has been steeped in the heritage of Perry County country music from the very beginning. Zach learned to sing and play by performing in church services at the historic Eschol Brethren In Christ Church across the street from his home. He gained recognition from an elder neighbor and country musician, Roscoe Reisinger, who fostered the young spirit and turned him onto a local watering hole, Laurel Run Lodge, it was there at Laurel Run (famously known as Chick’s) that Zach found a whole new type of Wednesday night service with the joyous clankin’ of beer bottles and the harmonious singing of bar-room anthems. Zach was recognized as The Perry County Poet Laureate by the Perry County Commissioners & perry County Council of the Arts in 2024 for his original song "The Perry County Waltz".
