About the event

Friends of the Library Book Review Event
The Friends of the Library will hold a Book Review Event at the Sherman Public Library on Weds. Dec. 3 at 12pm. Sue Malnory will review WHY WAS THE PARTRIDGE IN THE PEAR TREE?: THE HISTORY OF CHRISTMAS CAROLS by Reverend Mark Lawson-Jones and Bishop Dominic Walker. This book tells the stories behind many much-loved Christmas carols, from their earliest incarnations in the Middle Ages and their banning under the Puritans to the wassailing traditions of the 1800s and the carols that united soldiers during the First World War. There are no signups or tickets needed to attend this event.
