About the event

Friends of the Library Book Review Event
The Friends of the Library will hold a Book Review Event at the Sherman Public Library on Weds. Oct. 1 at 12pm. Frances Nelson will appear in costume as Olive Oatman to review The Captivity of the Oatman Girls Among the Apache and Mohave Indians by Lorenzo D. Oatman and Olive A. Oatman. This book tells the true story of Olive and her sister Mary Ann, who were kidnapped by Native American raiders in 1851 while their pioneer family was traveling through the Mohave Desert. Olive later lived here in Sherman for many years. There are no signups or tickets needed to attend this event.
