Christena has been singing professionally since the age of seven. Her career started out belting national anthems for hockey games and international sporting events. Inspired by Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, and Mariah Carey, the songstress has recorded as a background vocalist on Engelbert Humperdinck’s record ‘The Living Years’ and has released several original songs in collaboration with UK producer and songwriter Lin Gardiner. She fronted the Canadian female collective, The Soul Sistahs in the U.S. and Canada, performing two sold out tours. Christena was a special guest of Rod Stewart’s producer, Lauren Wild at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato in Los Angeles, where she has performed her own solo show earlier this year.
Christena’s latest project, “Jimmy’s,” is a stunning tribute to the timeless works of legendary composer Jimmy McHugh, beautifully produced by two-time Grammy winner and former Paul McCartney & Wings’ lead guitarist Laurence Juber. Juber is also featured on the album and wrote amazing new arrangements to these timeless classics.
