June is looking to heat up. Keep it cool at this month’s Jentel Presents. Some come from far away while others are from our very own state. Jentel Presents provides the opportunity for these artists to share their visual artworks writing and maybe a little music with our wonderful Sheridan community. This event will take place on Tuesday June 24 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library Inner Circle in Sheridan. Feel free to bring your lunch cookies will be provided. Jentel Presents is open to all who wish to join.
This month’s presenters include Jennifer Ogden Hamilton MT; A mixed media artist; Jennifer is a lifelong Montanan who is married to Matt a botanist with two kids. She is an art specialist in a rural public school and a teaching artist in another district. Mauricio Ruiz Iowa City IA; A multidisciplinary writer; Mauricio studied engineering and music and has lived in Belgium Norway and Mexico. He also has an interest in psychology neuroscience and environmentalism. Layla Ali Amar Atlanta GA; A mixed media artist; Layla has an extensive bandana collection has driven cross-country five times loves watching the moon rise and their favorite time of day is dusk. Shawn Solus Pocatello ID; An interdisciplinary artist; Shawn loves music film and traveling. He is from SLC Utah but Idaho is now Shawn’s home. He lives there with his son and partner. Lauren Barbato Marlboro Township NJ; A fiction writer; Lauren is a Ph.D. candidate in religion whose work explores narratives of agency and dissent among female mystics and Catholic sisters. John Wilhelm Laramie WY; A composer; John is interested in how sounds and our memory connect and how to make labor that goes into creativity readable.

The Jentel Artist Residency offers dedicated individuals a supportive environment in which to further their creative development. While at Jentel visual artists writers and composers have the opportunity to experience unfettered time to allow for thoughtful reflection and meditation on the creative process in a setting that preserves the agricultural and historical integrity of the land.
The Jentel Artist Residency accepts applications twice a year from visual artists in all media writers in all genres and composers in all genres for a three-week residency. A residency includes comfortable accommodation; common living dining and recreation areas; a private workspace and a stipend to help defray expenses during the program.
