Gratiot-Isabella Family Coalition Meeting: Parent Café Planning and "What's Next?" Kits!

Join us for a Family Coalition meeting! We'll be putting together the next round of our "What's Next?" activity kits, which go out to children in the community! They contain books, activities parents and caregivers can do with their children, and great information about parenting and child development. And they're all free for families with children from age 1 to 5 1/2!

We'll also be planning our upcoming series of Parent Cafés, which are safe and fun spaces for anyone raising a child to come together and talk about the joys and struggles of parenting. We'll be choosing the conversation topics and brainstorming ideas for getting the word out about these awesome events!

The Family Coalition meeting will be directly followed by our Great Start Board meeting, which is where people from a bunch of community organizations that serve families with young children come together. Parent representation on the board is so important, so the organizations can hear about the experiences and needs of real families in the community, so if you're able to, please stick around for the board meeting afterward! There is also a $30 participation stipend for attending the board meeting, since we know it's a time commitment to stick around for another two hours. :-)

In order to make it easier for people to attend the meetings, we are offering a childcare stipend in case you need to line someone up to watch your kids and a mileage reimbursement to cover your gas to get there! And anyone who sticks around for the Great Start Board meeting also gets a $30 stipend for sharing your time and experience! Hope you can make it!
