Calling all witches and wizards to come ride the tide down the Housatonic River for the fourth annual Witches Paddle.
Meet up dressed in your best witch costume (costumes required)!!! Paddle down the Housy (ride the tide with the outgoing current) leaving from Sunnyside school in Shelton and ending at Dockside Brewery in Milford for a bite and a drink. People in sit in side kayaks (cockpit style) or for anyone with mobility issues I offer unloading at the state ramp which is a very short drive to the dockside. It is easier to unload as there is a ramp as opposed to the dock. However, many were able to unload successfully onto the Dockside ramp. There are plenty of fellow paddlers to help. I WILL be able to unload you at Dockside if you are willing to wait for help.
***This is approximately a 7-ish mile paddle (feels way easier with current), please be prepared to paddle a long distance and prepare for weather conditions as it gets chilly at this time of year. I would highly recommend a change of clothes or layers in dry bags, lots of water, etc. It is a bit of a long paddle but feels easy traveling with the current.
This is a one way paddle so we end in a different location than starting. *Everyone is responsible for figuring out your own carpool coordination. Feel free to start up a chat discussion here too.
I personally unload at Sunnyside, then drop car off at Dockside, and get a ride back to Sunnyside so I do not need to go back after the paddle.

PLEASE BRING SHELF STABLE FOOD ITEM, DIAPERS, GCs or cash donations accepted also.
for example: peanut butter, canned meats like chicken and tuna, beans, fruit, soap, boxes, pasta, sauces, cereal, fruit cups/applesauce, etc.
