Megan Tribble is a lifelong artist and art educator. She has a Bachelor of Arts in visual arts education and has taught visual arts in public schools California and Washington for the last 17 years. She currently is pursuing her own art, teaching private classes, and works as a Teaching-Artist for Tacoma Arts Live.
This class will introduce elementary school aged artists to the foundations of art and design, look at art from throughout the world, explore a variety of art materials, and create art using their own ideas.
Registration opens 2 weeks before the event date. Register at trl.org Each class occurs on the first Fridays of the month from 4-5:30PM.
December 5: Observation Exploration
Many artists observe the world around them to help them create art. Come learn about artists that use observation to create their art, then practice your own observational drawing skills to create your own masterpiece.
January 2: Color Exploration
Come explore the wonderful world of color. Lean about the art of Mary Blair and her "Pocket Full of Colors" and then mix your own colors to create your own amazing artwork.
February 6: Paper Engineering Exploration
Paper Engineers use paper to create sculptures, pop-up books, and so much more. Come learn about different ways to make paper stand up and create your own sculpture or pop-up card.
