The Listening Table is keen to hear your stories! Come and sit at the table with us and listen to community members tell some of their life stories. Face to face storytelling creates bonds and can really help with community building and social cohesion.
We would love to video some short stories for publication and are looking for stories that once told, can help others maybe make a little more sense about their world.
Come and say hello and we can tell you a little more. You can just listen or you can tell us a story about your life. Something that had an impact on you, good or bad.
Please spread the word and we hope to see you at Pocket Park.
What is The Listening Projects?
TLP has been set up by Ben Hughes who previously set up The Men's Table. TLP is all about building social cohesion through listening. The deceptively simple act of listening to other peoples stories.
It is based around Simon Sineks quote "If you want to learn empathy, expose yourself to diversity." Basically go and sit and listen to people who don't look like you or think like you, and you will find out that most of us are the same.
This is all about "old fashioned" community building and increasing social cohesion in a world where isolation and loneliness is increasing for all age groups.
