Join Katie for a hands-on workshop exploring the vibrant world of reduction lino printing. Using a single block, you’ll create multi-color prints by carving away and printing in stages. To keep things flowing smoothly, pre-drawn designs will be provided—but if you’d like to bring your own design, please limit it to the four colors we are using in class, yellow, orange, green & purple.
9am-11am: Introduction to the reduction print process, and printing your base color, yellow.
11am-12:45pm: Carving second layer and printing with orange
Lunch Break
1:30pm-3pm: carving the next layer, and printing your third color.
3pm-5pm: Carving and printing the final layer, purple, to reveal your completed artwork.
Whether you’re new to printmaking or looking to refine your skills, you’ll leave with a finished multi-layer print and the confidence to tackle more on your own. We will supply Ink, Ink modifiers, paper, brayer & alignment tool.
