LIVING PICTURE THEATRE: IN BETWEEN
The path of a soul between death and birth / A guide to the afterlife
M. Newton: Journey of Souls – subjective adaptation
#visualtheater #aerialacrobatics
The Living Picture Theatre intends to make the invisible world graspable and experienceable in its sight-based, philosophical, self-awareness-stimulating performances. This time, we follow the path of a soul in the otherworldly space between death and birth inspired by the book Journey of Souls.
’I hear voices. The echo of music, the chime of the wind that vibrates with my movement... It's so soothing... I feel everything curved and round as I move quickly along the guideline... The familiar pulling power of thoughts reaches me, I join them... and I'm at home!’
The task of the soul is development, in which earthly lives are great challenges. It spends a significant part of its timeless time in the afterlife with its cluster group, the souls with whom it was born at the same time and develops together. The most sublime event in the afterlife, when the soul can look at its life(s) from a divine perspective while meeting with the council of advanced souls (archangels, cherubs), and it can purely experience the objective impact of its actions. The plan of the next life is formed as a result of these.
In the performance, we use artificial fog.

Please help Living Picture Theatre Reach WSD2025!
We, the Living Picture Theatre, are an independent Hungarian company known for our unique, visual and spiritual performances.
We have been honored with an invitation to one of the most prestigious international festivals for theatre designers: World Stage Design Scenofest, held every four years, this time in Sharjah.
The WSD has already awarded us twice with silver medals for our performance designs (Becoming Butterfly, 2017 and Tara’s Shell, 2022). Now they would like us to present one of our new productions, In Between, on the festival’s opening day. This is a tremendous opportunity for us – but we can only make it happen with your support!
## What are we fundraising for?
The festival provides the venue, the technical crew, two guest performers, and accommodation.
What we are still missing is the travel costs and fees for two of our performers and one technician, as well as the shipping of set elements.
Our goal: 800,000 HUF (2,000 EUR)
## Why does your support matter?
Independent Hungarian theatres today receive very little state funding. Yet we believe it is important to represent Hungary on the stage of WSD2025 Scenofest – and we can only get there with your help.
With your support we can:
show that Hungarian theatre is free and alive,
bring our art to one of the world’s most important festivals,
and share our vision with the audience that gathers from all around the globe only once every four years.
## What would we like to offer in return for your support?
€50+ → access to the video recording of our Sharjah performance
€100+ → performance video + documentary film about our journey
€150+ → documentary film + 2 complimentary tickets to one of our next In-Between performances
€200+ → a 50 x 70 cm canvas print of your choice from one of our performances
€300+ → a 75 x 100 cm canvas print of your choice from one of our performances
Every contribution – big or small – brings us closer to Sharjah.
