Seymour Helping Hands is excited to announce the return of a heartwarming fall tradition—our 4th Annual Pumpkin Project! This special event brings together our youngest and most senior community members in a celebration of kindness, creativity, and Halloween fun.
Sunday, October 19th at 2:00 PM
Volunteers from SHH will be reaching out to residents in the Senior Housing Authority area to place bright and cheerful pumpkin flyers on their front windows. These flyers aren’t just decorations—they’re beautiful pieces of art colored by the talented youth of SISD Elementary School. Each flyer lets families know which homes will be participating in the Pumpkin Project Trick-or-Treat walk.
Friday, October 31st at 5:15 PM
(45 minutes before the City sirens sound to start official trick-or-treating)
All Seymour children are invited to meet at the parking lot of the Meals on Wheels Center. From there, SHH volunteers will guide the children through the Senior Housing Authority neighborhood, stopping only at doors marked with the special pumpkin flyer. This way, kids can enjoy a safe, fun trick-or-treat while spreading joy to seniors who may not otherwise see little ghosts and goblins at their door. We’ll wrap up just before the sirens at 6:00 PM!
How You Can Help
🧡 Donate candy: If you’d like to donate a bag of candy to share with those who may not be able to provide treats, we’d love your support!
🧡 Parents, bring your kids: We invite you to be part of this event. Not only will your children enjoy trick-or-treating, but they’ll also bring smiles to seniors who may not get to see their own grandchildren on Halloween night.
This project is a beautiful way to bridge generations and bring our community closer together.
A heartfelt thank you to the City of Seymour and the Seymour Housing Authority for partnering with us once again to make this tradition possible.
Let’s make this year’s Pumpkin Project the biggest and brightest one yet! 🎃👻🍬
