Save the date: 350 years of mud and cow dung
A date for your calendar:
A joint meeting of the APCT and ODHS on Wednesday 12th November at 19:30h in the Club Room of the Otford Village Memorial Hall.
• The Archbishops Palace Conservation Trust is preparing the North West Tower for restoration
• In the late 17th Century the remaining Palace buildings, including the north-west Tower, were used as farm buildings.
• Before the Trust can reinstate the floors, we need to know what – if anything – lies beneath 350 years of mud and cow dung!
• In October, a team from Archaeology SouthEast will be investigating what lies beneath the surface.
• To share the results a meeting will be held jointly by the Archbishops Palace Conservation Trust and the Otford and District Historical Society on Wednesday 12th November
• This is your opportunity to view the ‘finds’ from the dig and hear from one of the team carrying out the investigation.
