The Game
It is peculiar.
Round and beautiful,
wonderful and delightful,
can be opened and closed,
a button, a sphere, a pearl, a ring.
A magical key and a candle’s flame,
colorful shadow, devil’s lamp.
I play with my own life,
hide and seek with every shadow,
with the attic, with the rooms,
with the light that flies away,
I throw light with the mirror
to the sand, to the bush,
and the sun – a giant golden coin –
suddenly collapses into my lap.

The game: reflection, imitation of reality, confrontation, competition and cooperation, thinking, learning, disconnection, flow, and immersion.
The topic of our 2025 conference is creativity and play.
Playing begins in childhood by observing the dance of a scarf floating in front of our face, and continues with the observation, modeling, and imitation of phenomena in the world around us – leading to the discovery of the joy of collaboration with peers.
We incorporate our experiences of this diverse world into our cognitive and creative strategies. From the act of self-expression to the creation of things, from perceiving new and unknown connections between phenomena to renewing and creative innovations – human creativity shines through it all.
Creative pedagogies can support learners in approaching knowledge creation more independently and critically. The competitive nature of educational systems can be softened through play: more play, less performance-oriented competition.
Play creates the opportunity for mutual learning in situations that are enjoyable for all participants.
Coordinated teamwork along assigned roles is not only life-saving in medicine, but it also plays a key role in the survival of families and other communities – and such collaboration is best learned through shared play.
Play and creativity are both the origin and the goal of educational processes.
Play strengthens creativity, just as creativity enhances play, and one of the main goals of learning is the creative use of knowledge.
How can this happen? How can play and creativity be integrated into education? And what effect does this have on people and their environment?
These are among the questions we aim to explore at our Conference – with your help.
We invite researchers, professionals, and educators to share their experiences and insights about play and creativity with us and the participants of the conference.
