Artworks Gallery Offers 4-Week Series of Drawing Basics Workshops
The Artworks Gallery offers a four-week series of Drawing Basics Workshops with Roberta Nelson on Fridays, starting September 12 through October 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. The class is for people who would love to learn how to draw or just sharpen already learned skills. The workshops will be held at the Artworks Gallery, 109 Fall Street in downtown Seneca Falls.
Roberta says, “The information and studies focus on: seeing an object as an artist sees it; correctly proportioning and establishing spatial relationships within the objects; creating depth by using linear perspective and shading techniques. These techniques include mapping out the values in the object, using different grades of pencils and pressures, various drawing techniques, and varied lighting positions. Please note: each class builds upon the previous one.” Participants need to bring a regular 2B or HB pencil, set of drawing pencils (if desired), a drawing pad larger than 9”x 12”, an 18” ruler, and a good eraser. The instructor will provide information sheets.
