Gallery 905 and ArtsRevive are proud to present Red Truck Blues, a new exhibition by Birmingham artist and blues performer Elnora Spencer.
Spencer is known across the South as one of Alabama’s leading ladies of the blues, a gifted vocalist, songwriter, and painter.
Born in Adamsville, Alabama, and raised surrounded by gospel music, she began singing as a child and went on to perform with legendary artists including Bobby Blue Bland, Koko Taylor, Millie Jackson, Percy Sledge, and Denise LaSalle. She later became the first woman to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Birmingham Blues Hall of Fame.
Her paintings, like her music, are soulful, vivid, and full of movement. Spencer’s work draws on her life experiences and the rhythms of Southern storytelling, creating visual compositions that feel alive with emotion and memory.
Curated by Paul Barrett, Red Truck Blues explores how sound, rhythm, and color intertwine across Spencer’s artistic journey.
🎶 To celebrate the exhibition, ArtsRevive will host Elnora Spencer live in concert at Gallery 905 on Thursday, November 13, 2025. This special event unites her two passions, art and music for a members only performance .(membership available at door)
