Westview Live are pleased to welcome back THE SLATES for a headline show after two support appearances.
Four mates from Yorkshire, The Slates are a young, energetic indie band who are passionate about writing anthems and partying hard. The Slates formed in summer 2019 with front man Louis Barnes, guitarist Joe Briggs, and bassist Jude Wales.
The band have succeeded to have plays on the BBC, series’ on Channel 4, played at YNOT Festival 2022, Isle Of Wight Festival 2023, Manchester Academy 1 and have played multiple times at the O2 Academy Leeds. The Slates released their debut EP ‘u wot?’, including summer anthems, ‘Hello, Don’t You Know?’ and ‘Shield Your Drink’ in the back end of 2022 as well as their 2023 hit ‘What Have You Done?’ which gained them shows in iconic venues across the nation.

Cornish Garage Rockers, The Velvet Hands , famed for their hi energy gigs, are: “Full of Bolshy Spirit” – NME. “bolshy, brash garage punk rabble-rousers somewhere between the attitude of early Cribs or Libertines colliding with the death or glory of the Clash” – GodsintheTVZine. “A satisfying mix of classic punk, rock’n’roll and modern indie magic” –Dork. They have supported Liam Gallagher, The Wallows, Fontaines DC , Paul Weller & Frank Turner and headlined UK tours. In 2024 they sold out Omeara.
The Dazed Minded are a 4-piece female-led garage rock band, bringing the 2000's indie sleaze & fuzzy Britpop vibe back into the 2020's.
Hailing from Reading in the UK, the newcomers are a rock outfit that draws on indie sleaze and garage rock stylings. Formed just last year, the band has been quick to make an impact with their uncompromising sound and energy that channels the spirit of 2000s indie rock while filtering it through their own sonic lens.
Taking cues from artists such as Miles Kane, Kings of Leon and Razorlight, The Dazed Minded delivers an epic indie rock sound that’s entirely their own. Led by singer-songwriter Beth and bassist Tam the band also features lead guitarist John Humphries and drummer Roddy Bailey, forming a group whose synergy has propelled The Dazed Minded into the spotlight as a rising act in the alternative UK music sphere.
