About the event

Scunthorpe Flat Track Autumn Trophy Round 1
This is the first round of the 3-round Autumn Trophy Cup series but riders can ride in as many, or as few, meetings as they like but all three rounds will count towards the series. Please note that if riders do not complete three rounds, or the series doesn't end up having three rounds, then trophies will not be issued. That said we will do all we can to reschedule dates if they become victim to the British weather.

Due top track unavailability in October the second and third rounds are now Sunday 2nd November and Sunday 30th November. We will run a STANDALONE meeting for the Midlands Flat Track Cup on Sunday 5th October (which was an intended date for the Autumn Trophy. Please note that meeting does not count towards the Autumn Trophy but is an excellent opportunity to race race your bikes on a different track and compete for Midlands Cup trophies).

CLASSES
There are now eleven adult classes (Flat Track, Vintage Flat Track, MX/Dirt Bike, Evo, Super Comp, Street Tracker, Inappropriates, Minibike Stock, Modified Mini, Pit Bikes and Ladies) and three youth classes - Youth Novice (up to 50cc four stroke), Youth Junior (up to 50cc two-stroke and 110cc four-stroke) and Youth Inter (up to 85cc two-stroke and 160cc four stroke).

For the whole series we expect the following classes to be on track together:

Ladies Class & Inappropriate
Evo, Super Comp & Street Tracker
Minibike Stock and Modified Minibike
Motocross/Dirt Bike and Vintage Flat Track
Youth Novice and Youth Junior

Of course, this may change dependent on the number of bookings but it will prevent some bikes being ridden in two classes. We apologise for this but with two meetings being run in November we are acutely aware of needing to finish the meeting before it gets dark and, potentially, cold.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
Please note that no classes allow speedway/grass track bikes. There are separate meetings at Scunthorpe for those bikes.

Evo -A class for bikes built before 1995 (or direct continuation models). All major components to have been available before 1995. Rotax four-valvers are excluded but they can race in Super Comp or Flat Track classes.

Flat Track - specialised class for DTX (modified MX) bikes, framers and highly modified road bikes.

Inappropriate Road Bike - open to all bikes not designed to be raced on a dirt track (so no flat track, supermoto, enduro, MX, speedway, grasstrack) like mopeds, step-throughs, scooters, faired bikes, four cylinder bikes, factory customs, choppers, lowriders, and most ordinary road bikes in factory original trim

Ladies - female riders only, all bikes welcome

Minibike Stock - Bikes should be unmodified versions of the following models: Honda CRF125, Yamaha TTR125 or Suzuki DRZ125. Other bikes would have to be cleared to race but any mechanical advantage would not be allowed in what is a standardised bike class

Modified Minibike - For air/oil cooled four-stroke bikes up to 160cc. There are no wheel size limits but all engines must be upright. Not all bikes are necessarily 'mini bikes' but are welcome if they fit the aforementioned criteria.

Pit Bikes - for air-cooled four-stroke bikes up to 160cc. There are no wheel size limits but all engines must be laydown. Not all bikes are necessarily 'pit bikes' but are welcome if they fit the aforementioned criteria. However, the only other classes that pit bikes can enter are the ladies and youth classes (assuming they meet the other restrictions).

MX/Dirt Bike - for all MX and Enduro bikes with no lowered suspension and minimum 21" front wheel. Definitely no flat track or supermoto bikes.

Street Tracker - an intermediate class for road-based bikes with standard frames and front forks. It sits between between Super Comp and IRB and specifically includes Brit off-roaders and early trail bikes

Super Comp - a class for more highly modified bikes including super-motos, thunderbikes, late-model trail bikes, framers, more modified road bikes, and the oddball stuff that turns up occasionally and we don’t know where to place. It is not a second class for Pit Bikes or full-blown flat trackers.

Vintage Flat Track - a class for flat-track style, twin-shock bikes built before 1985 (or direct continuation models). All major components to have been available before 1985. Rotax four-valvers are excluded but they can race in Super Comp or Flat Track classes.

Youth Junior - for riders up to 16 years old (riding up 50cc two-stroke or 110cc four-stroke)

Youth Inter - for riders up to 16 years old (riding up 85cc two-stroke or 160cc four-stroke)

Youth Novice - For riders up to 10 years old (riding up 50cc four-stroke)

RESERVATIONS, COSTS AND PAYMENT DETAILS
No membership is required at Scunthorpe and the cost of one class is £40 (and £30 for Youth Novice & Youth Junior as they only have 4 laps in a race).

Additional classes are just £10.

We will take bookings (by payment) at any time and will take unpaid bookings after the date of the previous round. Bookings can be made for the next meeting in the series by contacting me (Richard Hollingsworth).
Our preference is for bank transfer payments (to avoid Paypal fees) in advance (to limit the work required by Anne on the day) but we are also happy to accept Paypal payments via the website or to c2N1bm55cmFjZXdheSB8IGdtYWlsICEgY29t, or cash on the day.

Bank transfer (is through sort 07-01-16, account 34001956, name Richard Hollingsworth) and we'd like payments by 6pm the evening before racing. If you plan to pay cash on the day please let us know (unless you are a trusted regular) and please do not be a no-show. Stuff happens but it always seems to happen to those who haven't paid. Not showing up can really make a mess of the day by forcing us to run unecessary races. I have no problem with cancellations (especially if they are done by 6pm the night before racing because I can adjust the racesheet accordingly) and more than happy to issue full refunds.

PLEASE NOTE - we like early bookings. It helps encourage others to enter if they see a nice list of entries so, if you like to support us and enjoy the meetings, please book early (and cancel if you have to). To encourage early bookings any made after the deadline (Monday 1st September at midnight for this meeting) will cost £5 more.

PLEASE NOTE SIMPLY ADDING YOURSELF TO THE ATTENDEES LIST IS NOT ENOUGH.
It is also worth double-checking you are on the list of riders when they are published in the facebook group in the lead up to the meeting.

SIGNING-ON
This is 9.30-10.30am on race day. Gates will be open by 9am latest, Racing from 11am until around 4pm. Our food van will be open, and we will have a paramedic in attendance.

MEETING FORMAT
There will be five rides for each class. The first four races will be qualifiers. The grid positions are specified for those with five grid positions on each row (1-5 front row, 6-10 middle row & 11-15 back row with the lower numbers on the inside and the higher numbers on the outside).

There are class trophies for the first three in the finals but all five rides count towards the position in the class for the day and, in turn, Autumn Trophy series points.

REWARD FOR BEING A REGULAR

For all riders who ride in all three rounds we will give you a series sticker and a commemorative medal.

REWARD FOR INTRODUCING NEW RIDERS

We recognise the continued success of flat track at Scunthorpe relies on us finding new riders. With that in mind anyone who introduces a new rider to our meetings will earn themselves up to £20 in credit for their racing. Basically, it means if Rider A introduces Rider B then Rider A will receive a £10 credit towards their racing after Rider B has ridden their first meeting and another after they have ridden a second time.

AUTUMN TROPHY SERIES

Autumn Trophy series points will be scored in the following manner: 20 points for 1st, 19 for 2nd etc down to 1 point for 20th (although the larger classes may start at 30 (or even higher) if entry numbers justify it.

Any ties at the end of the series are decided on the results between the tied riders (for the meetings when both competed) with the most recent meeting in which they met being the next decider. Please also note that series trophies will not be awarded to anyone who hasn't ridden in all three meetings.

Likewise, when there are riders tied in qualifying, grid positions will be decided by who beat who the most when they met during and if equal, then who beat whom in their most recent race.

All amateur events for speedway and flat track (meetings, practices and training schools) are listed on the club's track calendar here http://scunthorpescorpions.co/?page_id=73 with AMSA and Wayne Carter sessions encouraging flat trackers to be involved.
