Tickets are $35-$40 and can be purchased online at www.thetheateratnorth.org or in person at the box office: Tuesdays 11am-2pm, Wednesdays 11am-2pm, Thursdays 3pm-6pm, and on the night of the show starting at 5pm.
Band Bios . . .
Michelle Truman (AGNETHA) lead vocals: Michelle is a born entertainer. From a child actor into an accomplished vocalist, she can be seen on stages across North America in the role of Agnetha in Canada’s Premiere ABBA Tribute Show, ALWAYS ABBA.
Lead singer for the multi platinum album Canadian Classic rock band TORONTO. While surrounded by A- list rock royalty, she can often be seen staring in the critically acclaimed RAIDING THE ROCK VAULT production in Las Vegas.
A powerhouse vocalist, her career spans countless rock musical theatre productions across Canada and Europe. Seven years as lead singer of the epic Monster Rock Orchestra. Touring member of BIG TOP RADIO portraying Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, Lita Ford and HEART. Michelle has sung with countless Canadian and American symphonies across North America, proving her versatility and stamina landing her the position as in-studio vocal guide for mega rock producer Michael Wagener.
She is currently performing with the premier ABBA tribute, ALWAYS ABBA. Michelle can also be seen in the accomplished SHANIA TWAIN tribute show for ALWAYS SHANIA in the staring role. Michelle can be heard singing harmony and back up vocals on albums with such bands as Skid Row, Alert The Medic, and Broken Sons and lead vocalist on original albums and co-written work with German based female girl group ENVY as well as Canadian rock band SNAKE OIL SINNERS. Her voice is also featured on jingles currently playing on E! Network and MTV.
Grateful, passionate and always at home fronting a show, Michelle is a fireball of enthusiasm and energy.
Roger Friend (drums): Roger Friend's musical career spans over 4 decades of diverse experience. Touring in more than 100 countries, with elements of all origins has given him vast international musical experience. He is a high level, multi-faceted drummer and percussionist.
Roger's credits include: Performing with Tom Jones, ABBA, Tom Scott, The Rippingtons, Bamboo Forest, BB King, Steve Oliver, Dweezil Zappa and countless others. He has played for Kings, Queens, 3 Presidents, a Pope and several other distinguished audiences. Winning 2 Grammys and 2 Emmys adds to the number of accolades he has achieved through his 40+ year career.
Amanda Jean (Anni Frid) lead vocalist: Born in Trenton, Ontario, Amanda Jean's musical journey began in her hometown, where her passion for music took root. Her captivating performances and authentic vocal style have since carried her across borders, including a transformative period living and singing in the Middle East (Dubai and Bahrain), where she immersed herself in diverse musical tradition and honed her craft of musical performance.
Amanda Jean has shared stages with renowned Canadian musical talents, earning admiration for her dynamic vocal range both as a lead vocalist and a backing vocalist. As a multifaceted artist, she writes and performs her own music, most currently releasing original works titled "Reflections" and "Boom Boom", which are available on all streaming platforms. Now back in Canada, Amanda continues to enchant audiences at local venues and festivals. When not performing her own music, she can be found gracing the stages as one of the leads in an Abba tribute titled "Always Abba" or supporting Canadian rock band "Toronto the Legacy". Philip Shouse (guitar): Dynamic guitar player and performer. Seen on stages around the world with Country superstar Rodney Atkins, Accept, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Gene Simmons and Ace Frehley from KISS, John Corabi, Mike Farris, Band on the Run (Paul McCartney tribute), appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman, Fox News, New Years Eve live from Time Square, the Grand Ole Opry. He can also be seen parading his talents around North America with ALWAYS ABBA.
Rob Laidlaw (bass): Rob Laidlaw,JUNO nominated song writer,producer,musician...35 years in the music business,performed and produced artists like,Kim Mitchell,Alanah Myles,Platinum Blonde,Honeymoon Suite,Alannis Morrisette ,Glass Tiger,Loverboy,Survivor,Rough Trade,Lee Aaron,Always ABBA ...many film and TV credits for original music,.and countless of indie artists...I have toured all over this outstanding globe
Scott MacDonald (keys): Scott Macdonald has been creating unforgettable melodies and harmonies for decades. Best known as the keyboardist and vocalist for the iconic Canadian band Spoons, Scott joined the group in 1986 and has been a driving force in their sound ever since. His lush keyboards and vocals have helped shape the band’s signature style, blending classic pop sensibilities with modern energy.
A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Scott’s musical journey began with early inspirations like The Beatles and David Bowie, artists who taught him the magic of reinvention and timeless hooks. His passion for music didn’t stop at Canada—Scott has traveled and worked around the globe, forming bands in Asia and Bulgaria with friends, always chasing the universal language of melody. Along the way, he honed his skills as a songwriter, penning tracks that resonate with emotion.
For fans of ALWAYS ABBA, Scott’s story is especially relatable: a love for layered harmonies, dynamic keyboard work, and songs that make you want to move. Whether performing to sold-out crowds with Spoons or creating music on the other side of the world, Scott’s mission has always been the same—to make people feel connected through music. Today, Scott continues to perform with Spoons and Always Abba, bringing energy, nostalgia, and fresh creativity to every show.
Jamie Constant (drums/ percussion): From the steady rhythms of a Scottish pipe band to the electrifying pulse of rock stages across North America, I have managed to carve out a career spanning decades. Starting as a drummer in a Scottish pipe band in the 1970s, laid the foundation for a lifelong career in music. The 1980s marked a shift into the world of rock, where I became a founding member of Syre. Signed to A&M Records in 1987, the band toured extensively across North America earning a loyal fanbase leaving their mark on the rock scene.
Dan Benezra (keys): Multi-instrumentalist, including Lead voice, Piano, Keyboards, Bass Keyboard and Guitar. Throughout the past 25 years, Dan has traveled extensively throughout Canada and USA, playing outdoor festivals, Cruise Lines, Marriott/Holiday Inn Hotel chains in addition to various banquet halls & corporate events. Performing in a JOURNEY Tribute Band and BON JOVI Tribute Band for the past ten years has provided him with the platform to perform to large stadium size venues. In earlier years, Dan performed as a one-man band throughout Canada. In additon to sitting in as piano player for late great Long John Baldry he also has done session snd studio work for many Canadian Artists. He also performed on various Cruise lines, where his vocal skills stood the test. A classically trained graduate from the Royal Conservatory of Music achieving A.R.C.T.,and Jazz programs from York University, he plays a variety of genres from today’s popular music, R&B, Jazz, Classical and contemporary styles. In addition, he is an Alto Vocalist along with being an arranger and composer and Rhythm guitarist. His flare and musicianship bring a level of professionalism, as he is an MBA Graduate from U of T and enjoys multi-tasking and making people dance!
