It’s 1958, and rock ’n’ roll heartthrob Conrad Birdie has been drafted into the army! To give his fans one last thrill, his manager Albert and longtime girlfriend Rosie plan a farewell kiss with an all-American teen on The Ed Sullivan Show. The lucky girl? Fifteen-year-old Kim McAfee of Sweet Apple, Ohio. Soon, the quiet town is turned upside down as Conrad’s arrival causes teenage chaos, jealous boyfriends, frantic parents, and plenty of laughs. With classic songs like “Put On a Happy Face,” “One Last Kiss,” and “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” this beloved musical comedy captures the fun, innocence, and excitement of the early rock ’n’ roll era.
