Black Ash Basketry Workshop

Discover the Art of Black Ash Basketry

Join Sarah and Josh Homminga as they walk students through the journey of creating a traditional Black Ash basket. All materials provided, the only thing you need to bring is a desire to learn the rich culture behind traditional indigenous crafts that are not only beautiful but functional.

Part I: Saturday, Oct. 18
Part II: Sunday, Oct. 19
Time: 10 AM - 5 PM
Where: 217 Ferris St, SSM
Cost: Free to the public, ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult

This class is open to both natives and non-natives. Priority is given in the following order:
1. Sault Tribe Members
2. Other Native Tribes
3. Native Household
4. Non-Natives
