Are you curious about what goes on out on that big, flat open space just south of the Baraboo Bluffs? For many who have lived in the area for decades, there may be strong memories of the area being off limits, and for good reasons. Covered by industrial infrastructure for decades, the area seems quite vacant these days.
The former grounds of the Badger Army Ammunition Plant are confusing for many. With its various parcel owners, all with various restrictions, access to the public lands are a bit of a labyrinth. Following along the glacial moraine, The Great Sauk Trail allows thousands of recreational visitors to easily pass directly through the very heart of the property, yet much of the landscape remains a mystery.
Come learn about our history, mission, and intentions as we seek to promote the ecological, and cultural healing of this unique landscape.
Our Executive Director Ron Lutz II wishes to build a closer sense of community not only for our supporting constituents, but also for all those who support conservation, education, and the arts. He will be conducting these gatherings not just as a means of presenting our history and mission, but as a place for folks to gather together. There will be time after the multimedia presentation for lively conversation, and folks are welcome to gather at a local establishment afterwards.
This will be at the George Culver Community Library in Sauk City.
Please come join us for this free event! No sign-ups required. We would love to SEE you in person! This will not be a streamed, or recorded event.
