Who can attend?
SaskAbilities supports people who experience disability and the related impacts. A disability can be physical, sensory, mental health‑related, cognitive, learning‑related, or connected to a chronic, changing or situational condition. Disabilities can be visible or invisible, diagnosed or undiagnosed, and can affect people in different ways depending on the situation.
Our funder requires that individuals accessing our services self-declare a disability. Many people don’t think of themselves as having a disability, even when they experience real impacts in their work life.
*For example:
A person with arthritis in their knee may have little difficulty in an office setting. But in a warehouse job, where they’re on their feet all day, that same arthritis may cause pain or make the work unsafe.
Disability shows up differently depending on the job, the environment, or even the day.
