Two Bees Presents "Yaga" by Kat Sandler

Two Bees Productions in partnership with Live Five Independent Theatre & On the Boards Staging Company, are thrilled to bring "Yaga" by Kat Sandler to Saskatoon as the first show of Live Five's 22nd Season!

A private investigator and a small-town detective go on a twisted journey to solve the disappearance of the heir to a yogurt empire. As they journey through a dark, small town into a darker forest, they meet curious characters along the way. Yaga is a modern story based on the Slavic folklore of Baba Yaga.

She’s more than just a wicked old witch. Baba Yaga is a legend, usually known as that elderly woman who lives alone in the woods and grinds the bones of the wicked. But what if she was actually a sexy, smart, modern woman operating off of morally ambiguous motives?

This genre-bending comedic fairy tale meets thrilling whodunit gives voice to an antihero of epic proportions while interrogating how her story has historically been told by men. From now on, you’ll remember the name Baba Yaga for the right reasons.

Recommended audience age 15+. Content contains fog, loud sound effects, and mentions of sexual assault and abortion.
